US SPDR® Thematic ESG ETF Changes Announced by State Street Global Advisors
State Street Corp
State Street Global Advisors, the asset management division of State Street Corporation, announced a number of changes to its SPDR®MSCI ACWI Low Carbon Target ETF today (LOWC). The SPDR MSCI ACWI Low Carbon Target ETF will change its fund name, ticker, benchmark, listing exchange.
On or about April 22, 2022, the SPDR MSCI ACWI Low Carbon Target ETF will transfer its primary listing from NYSE Arca to The Nasdaq Stock Market LLC ("Nasdaq"). The fund's benchmark will be changed to the MSCI ACWI Climate Paris Aligned Index, which is intended to help investors reduce their exposure to transition and physical climate-related risks while also pursuing opportunities arising from the transition to a lower-carbon economy in accordance with the Paris Agreement requirements.
The fund will also have a 4:1 share split. When completed, the split will reduce the fund's share price while increasing the number of outstanding shares. The aggregate market value of outstanding shares will not be affected. The share split will be effective for shareholders of record as of the close of business on or about April 19, 2022, and will be payable after the close of business on or about April 21, 2022. The shares will begin trading at their post-split price on or about April 22, 2022.
The NYSE Arca and other exchange operators, such as Nasdaq, have partnerships with State Street Global Advisors SPDR ETFs. As a result of these changes, shareholders will not be required to take any action.
