The partnership will set a new benchmark in the UK's waste sector and support the circular economy concept.
  • Northern Ireland receives the most advanced recycling facility to recycle waste from industrial activities.

  • The plant will be up and running by December 2025.

Kiverco Recycling Plant, world-famous for toughness, has partnered with construction and energy services company McKinstry Group for a new £16 million recycling facility in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

The facility is claimed to be the largest and most advanced in the UK and Ireland and recycles waste from construction, demolition, and industrial (C, D & I) activities.

The partnership will set a new benchmark in the UK's waste sector and support the circular economy concept, which means that materials are reused or recycled rather than sent to landfills, benefiting the environment and reducing the negative impacts of industrial activities.

The companies, both family-run businesses, have been working on the project for more than two years to build the most innovative and efficient recycling plant in the UK's waste sector. To this end, in the first leg of the project, they researched the latest technologies by visiting other recycling plants in the country, testing different materials, and examining a number of design ideas.

The plant's construction has already started and will be ready and running by December 2025, taking Northern Ireland further up in recycling technology and sustainability.
