Schneider Electric Kicks Off Impact Buildings Programme in Dubai
Schneider Electric S.E.

The built environment programme will include more new and existing buildings in a year or two.
Schneider aims to show how smart, connected technologies can reduce the environmental impact of commercial buildings.
Schneider Electric, the global energy management and automation specialist, has launched a new Impact Buildings programme, starting with its Dubai office.
The programme aims to show how commercial buildings can become more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. To this end, the company is using its technology called EcoStruxure™ solutions to manage and optimise energy use in its buildings.
It begins with The NEST in Dubai, which spans over 10,000 square metres and can accommodate more than 1,000 employees. This building is also home to Dubai's first Schneider Electric Global Innovation Hub and includes a training centre for customers and partners, with a focus on developing young local talent.

The NEST could reduce energy consumption by 37% compared to Schneider’s former office in the Emirate, equivalent to cutting around 572 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions each year, as well as roughly the annual energy consumption of 77 homes. This example shows how buildings can become more sustainable with the right, innovative digital tools.
Manish Kumar, Executive Vice President, Digital Energy at Schneider Electric, said: “We are walking the talk and creating the vision of what’s possible by transforming our own sites to show that buildings must evolve to meet tomorrow's business needs.
"Now is the time to rethink buildings. We are shaping a future where buildings don't just stand—they intelligently adapt and seamlessly connect to your business, your people, and your purpose. With EcoStruxure™ and Planon enterprise software, we are redefining building operations.”
Buildings play a crucial role in the fight against climate change, as they are globally responsible for about 37% of carbon emissions. So, making them more energy-efficient and sustainable is the need of the hour.

The company wants to convey this message by showing its own example of how buildings can embrace this transition. In the next year or two, Schneider will expand this programme to new and existing buildings. It also has plans to retrofit its existing buildings with modern sustainability standards.
Olivier Blum, Chief Executive Officer, Schneider Electric, commented: "The NEST is more than a building. It is a statement of intent. We are honored to have inaugurated this landmark project in the UAE, which demonstrates how digitalization and electrification can accelerate national net zero goals while creating world-class environments for people to collaborate, innovate, and grow.
"This new Dubai hub is the first of Schneider Electric’s Global Impact Buildings program and showcases how smart, connected technologies can revolutionize the built environment, setting new standards for innovative and sustainable commercial spaces while prioritizing occupant well-being.”
