Nestlé announced today that it is proposing Luca Maestri, Apple's Chief Financial Officer, and Chris Leong, Schneider Electric's Chief Marketing Officer, for election to its Board of Directors. The elections will take place on April 7, 2022, at the company's Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Ann M. Veneman will leave the Board after 11 years of dedicated service. Kasper Rorsted has decided against running for re-election. The Board will propose that the Chairman and all other current Board members be re-elected individually.

"I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Ann M. Veneman and Kasper Rorsted for their valuable contributions and highly relevant experience to our Board,"

said Paul Bulcke, Chairman of the Nestlé Board of Directors.

"Simultaneously, we are pleased to propose two new Board members. Luca Maestri has a strong background in finance and strategic planning, including work on one of the world's most valuable companies. Chris Leong has a strong understanding of Asia and emerging economies in general, and has delivered excellent results in marketing, digital industries, and B2B."

With the proposed nominees, the Nestlé Board will have 14 members, twelve of whom will be independent directors. The Board's continuous refreshment helps to maintain the complementarity of expertise and experience in the various areas relevant to Nestlé.

Luca Maestri has been Apple's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2014. He leads Apple's finance teams and has assisted the company in delivering unparalleled innovation and value to shareholders. Luca Maestri has three decades of experience building and leading finance teams in large, complex global corporations. Prior to joining Apple, he worked as the CFO of Xerox Corporation and Nokia Siemens Networks. He began his career at General Motors and rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GM Europe.

Chris Leong joined Schneider Electric in 2015 as Chief Marketing Officer and Member of the Executive Committee, having previously served as Executive Vice President for Digital Customer Experience. Through her global and regional roles, she brings extensive experience in Asia to the Board.

Between 2005 and 2011, Chris Leong held various positions at Nokia, including Senior Vice President for Greater China, Japan, and Korea, where she continued to grow market share and revenue through a digital consumer experience model. She has extensive experience in brand communications as a result of her senior management roles in marketing communications firms such as WPP agencies Bates Asia, Ogilvy Europe, and Grey Global Group, where she worked with leading global brands.
