Temenos Goal to Cut Carbon Footprint, Validated by SBTi

The Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) has endorsed Temenos' bold goals for reducing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
The SBTi has confirmed that Temenos' plan to cut its Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030, based on a 2019 baseline, is in line with the Paris Agreement's most stringent goal of keeping global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
This validation helps Temenos reach its goal of incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its operations and offerings and becoming a net-zero organisation globally and throughout its supply chain by 2050. This will also assist their clients in their own journeys toward becoming smart, inclusive, and sustainable organisations.
Temenos' science-based target encompasses both operational Scope 1 and 2 emissions and Scope 3 emissions from its value chain, making its Scope 3 target particularly challenging. This target surpasses the minimum level of ambition required for the 2°C pathway outlined in the Absolute Contraction Approach for the year 2030.

The SBTi sets the standard for setting science-based goals to reduce the worst effects of climate change. It also evaluates a company's goals on its own. Temenos is one of 2,218 companies that have received official validation for their targets to reduce emissions in accordance with climate science.
SBTi is a joint venture of Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
