Pernod Ricard Korea to Organise Sustainable Training Programme for Bartenders
Pernod Ricard SA
Pernod Ricard Korea, the Korean unit of the global wine and spirits company Pernod Ricard, announces that it will recruit participants in the February class for its sustainable bar operation training programme, ‘Bar World of Tomorrow’.
The programme is a one-day session, and there will be a networking session following the class for participants, as well as academic and practical sustainability training.
The Pernod Ricard Group's Bar World of Tomorrow is a professional training programme for bar owners and bartenders around the world to help develop a more sustainable bar culture. The programme has been open to bartenders and managers aged 19 and above who work in bars, hotels, and restaurants.
Since the course began in January, around 300 people (including bartenders, bar owners, and university students aged 19 and above) have completed it as members of the first through eighth classes.
By inviting bar owners who operate eco-friendly, sustainable bars as instructors, the 'Bar World of Tomorrow' training programme is seen as more practical and feasible. The training presented by Seo Jung-Hyun, owner of the bar 'Jangseng Geongangwon,' discussed methods for incorporating eco-friendly practices into bar operations.
It has also become a chance for bartenders to get to know each other better by giving them time to talk about their ideas for running a business and sustainably hosting events.
Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard Group has established its 2030 Sustainability & Responsibility Roadmap, 'Good Times from a Good Place,' which is being implemented in all of its subsidiaries around the world to fulfil its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable management in all of its business areas. The Bar World of Tomorrow training is part of the effort to meet this goal, and over 12,000 bartenders from ten Asian affiliates have participated in this programme.
