Pernod Ricard Korea Replaces Company Vehicles with Environmentally Friendly Models
Pernod Ricard SA
Global wine and spirits company Pernod Ricard Korea will switch out all of its company vehicles for greener transportation to cut down on carbon emissions.
Beginning at the end of this month, the company intends to replace all of its corporate business vehicles with environmentally friendly models. As part of the proposal, about sixty company vehicles with just internal combustion engines (ICE) used by sales reps will be replaced with hybrid vehicles. As part of the company's commitment to retaining 100 per cent eco-friendly automobiles, all subsequent vehicle purchases will be confined to electric and hybrid models.
In comparison to ICE vehicles, eco-friendly automobiles emit around 50g less carbon dioxide every kilometre driven. The company intends to cut annual CO2 emissions by approximately 76.25 tonnes by replacing the corporate vehicles used by sales personnel. This is similar to planting over 11,553 pine trees that are 30 years old.
In addition, Pernod Ricard Korea employs a vast array of extra Sustainability and Responsibility (S&R) practices. The company offers a professional training programme titled "Bar World of Tomorrow" to help develop a culture of sustainability in linked industries and educate individuals on how to preserve and repurpose materials. Additionally, the corporation is phasing out single-use plastic items and guaranteeing that all promotional products are created from recyclable materials.
All of these initiatives are part of the Pernod Ricard Group's 'Good Times from a Good Place' Sustainability and Responsibility Roadmap, which demonstrates the company's commitment to sustainable and responsible management at all stages of production, 'from grain to glass.'
Frantz Hotton, CEO of Pernod Ricard Korea commented, said:
“Eco-friendly movements supporting carbon neutrality are growing around the world. We hope that our decision to introduce environmentally responsible vehicles can contribute to the improvement of air quality and environmental conservation. Pernod Ricard Korea will continue to endeavour to seek ways to practice more sustainable and responsible management across all stages of our industry from production to serving customers.”
