Omer Acar new CEO

Accor appoints Omer Acar as Chief Executive Officer of Raffles & Orient Express. Acar joins Accor effective March 1, 2023. Based in New York, he will report directly to Sébastien Bazin on the Luxury & Lifestyle Executive Committee.

Today, Accor announced that Omer Acar will take over as CEO of Raffles & Orient Express on March 1, 2023.

Omer Acar is a respected leader who is known as an expert in luxury hospitality. He has high standards and a deep understanding of the world of luxury. He will bring his knowledge and love of brands to Accor, where he will help the Raffles and Orient Express brands build their reputations around the world and continue to grow internationally.

Omer Acar will work on the Luxury & Lifestyle Executive Committee and report to Sébastien Bazin. He will be based in New York and will work closely with the general managers of the other brands in this division. He will also be in charge of representing Accor on the North American market. This is to help grow the group's power and reputation in the United States.

Mr. Acar has degrees from Hawaii Pacific University, Cornell University, and the Institut hôtelier de Montreux in Switzerland (USA). He started his career at Four Seasons, where he worked in different operational roles at hotels in the US and Egypt. In 2005, he became Group Food & Beverage Director at Harrods in the UK.

In 2006, he was named General Manager of the Ritz de Paris, and from 2011 on, he did the same job at the Royal Monceau Raffles. In 2014, he became the General Manager for Europe and the Americas at Katara Hospitality. He is in charge of 18 hotels, such as the Plaza in New York, the Peninsula in Paris, the Carlton in Cannes, the Excelsior in Rome, the Grosvenor House, and the Savoy (London).
