LyondellBasell Debuts CirculenRecover Grades
LyondellBasell Industries NV
LyondellBasell has unveiled an exciting array of eight innovative product compounds as part of its renowned CirculenRecover portfolio.
These groundbreaking offerings empower customers to embrace circular practices in their plastic packaging utilisation. By elevating the incorporation of recycled content and diminishing plastic waste's fate in landfills or incinerators, these products mark a significant stride towards sustainable packaging solutions.
The CirculenRecover brand encompasses an array of products that include up to an impressive 100 per cent Post-Consumer Resin (PCR) content. These products are thoughtfully engineered to meet the stringent performance criteria demanded by a multitude of everyday applications.
Wisdom Dzotsi, LyondellBasell's Senior Director of Circular & Low Carbon Solutions Americas, emphasised, "These new CirculenRecover product compounds not only enable customers focused on applications like blown film or caps and closures to deliver exceptional products, but also align with their sustainability objectives. Our commitment to innovation aligns with customer needs as we propel forward within the circular value chain."
Currently available in North America, these novel compounds within the CirculenRecover portfolio are available in single-pellet solutions, catering to various PCR thresholds to cater to brand owners' specific requisites.
While their versatility renders them suitable for an array of end uses, their optimal utility shines in industrial and food packaging contexts, spanning consumer rigid and flexible packaging applications, including caps, closures, crates, bottles, and films.
Noteworthy advantages of the CirculenRecover compounds include:
Meticulously vetted raw materials, ensuring paramount quality and product safety.
Enhanced uniformity and enhanced processability in contrast to dry blends.
Formulations curated to offer the ideal PCR content per application, aligning with brand objectives.
These latest offerings form part of the comprehensive Circulen product lineup that the company unveiled in 2021. The Circulen product family encompasses:
CirculenRecover polymers, derived from plastic waste via a mechanical recycling process.
CirculenRevive polymers produced through an advanced molecular recycling technique that transforms challenging-to-recycle plastic waste into feedstock for manufacturing new polymers, serving a wide array of purposes.
CirculenRenew polymers, sourced from renewable feedstocks such as used cooking oil, boasting diverse applications.
This strategic announcement is in complete harmony with the company's ambitious goal of annually generating and marketing a minimum of two million metric tonnes of recycled and renewable-based polymers by 2030.
