IBM's Christina Shim and Deloitte's Marcus Goetz are discussing their collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing clients' sustainability strategies and minimising emissions.

IBM and Deloitte, technological and strategic giants, have united forces, combining their formidable tools—the IBM Envizi ESG Suite and Deloitte's GreenLight Solution.

This collaborative initiative is poised to assist clients in expediting their emissions reduction strategies and seamlessly integrating sustainability programmes into their organisational frameworks. Both Deloitte and IBM assert that they can guide these organisations in accelerating their sustainable transformation.

Marcus Goetz, Partner and Global Sustainability and Climate Technology Marketplace Leader at Deloitte emphasises the urgency of action in the face of the climate crisis.

He notes that organisations often struggle to derive data-driven insights necessary for strategic decision-making. Through the integration of IBM's Envizi with Deloitte's GreenLight Solution, organisations can leverage their existing investments in IBM solutions, rapidly accessing crucial data, enhancing insights, and gaining a clearer understanding of options for accelerated action toward climate and sustainability goals.

For those unfamiliar with the offerings from IBM and Deloitte, it's essential to take note. Deloitte's GreenLight Solution provides analyses on global credits, incentives, and prioritised abatement strategies, along with tools for planning, managing, and optimising net-zero goals and roadmaps.

On the other hand, Envizi aids companies in consolidating ESG data into a single system of record, calculating greenhouse gas emissions, supporting reporting, and offering data-driven insights for decarbonisation projects.

Christina Shim, Global Head of Product Management/Strategy, Sustainability Software at IBM, underscores IBM's commitment to aiding customers worldwide in optimising their business operations and meeting emissions commitments.

Shim mentions the inclusion of natural language processing in sustainability offerings to improve decision-making in activities impacting the planet's future, especially concerning Scope 3 emissions.

Shim further highlights that the collaboration with Deloitte is an extension of their longstanding relationship, one that has consistently delivered results for clients over nearly 25 years. The Deloitte and IBM alliance has gained recognition for innovative solutions, helping clients shape a culture tailored to the demands of today's corporate climate.

Both companies boast well-documented credentials, with IBM assisting clients in 175 countries through its global hybrid cloud and AI solutions, consulting knowledge, and expertise. Deloitte, on the other hand, provides essential advice and professional services to almost 90% of the Fortune Global 500, operating in over 150 countries.
