Vestas, the global leader in sustainable energy solutions, has been recognized by global reporting body CDP as a leading performer in environmental and climate change impact. Vestas received an A- in CDP's most recent annual assessment, putting the company in the global leadership band. CDP manages the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states, and regions to manage their environmental impacts.

Vestas received an A- rating after exceeding expectations in several areas, including emissions reduction, ambition level, and governance. Vestas ranks above the industry, European, and global averages. Overall, the ranking assesses the completeness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks, and best environmental practices, such as setting ambitious and meaningful emissions reduction targets.

"Since launching our sustainability strategy in early 2020, when we announced some of the most ambitious goals in our industry, we have made a companywide effort to translate these goals into action. Since then, we've made huge strides in circularity, emissions reduction, setting clear expectations for our supplier network, and governance. While we still have a long way to go to reach carbon neutrality by 2030, this recognition from CDP confirms that Vestas is on a leadership trajectory in sustainability, and a strong partner that can help accelerate progress in climate change mitigation and environmental responsibility,"

says Lisa Ekstrand, Senior Director and Head of Sustainability.

In addition to the CDP ranking, Vestas is now a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for Europe. Vestas has achieved several sustainability performance milestones in 2021, including the launch of a circularity roadmap, the CETEC project, which is focused on commercializing a new circularity technology for turbine blades, and the introduction of initiatives aimed at reducing emissions across our own operations and supply chain. CDP has made all information about Vestas publicly available.
