Microsoft announced the Future Ready Applications Hackathon, which will take place in six cities and will be open to Microsoft customers and the developer community. The hackathon allows participants to present innovative solutions and tackle real-world business challenges centred on four themes: fintech, e-commerce, sustainability, and developer velocity.

On September 24, 2022, the hackathon will be held in Indian cities, including Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Kochi. Participants must create an application that tackles a business challenge for the industry using Microsoft Azure services and technologies.

The winning team will be chosen based on their creative idea and presentation. Participants will also be mentored by Microsoft subject matter experts who will advise them on how to use Microsoft Azure to supercharge their innovation initiatives and accelerate their hack velocity.

The top three hackathon winners from each city will earn cash prizes of INR 50,000, INR 30,000, and INR 20,000, respectively. This participant will also receive $200 in Azure credit coupons and participation certificates.

Aparna Gupta, Executive Director, Customer Success, Microsoft India, said:

“We are elated to launch the Future Ready Applications Hackathon, a platform for developers to present their coding skills and solve interesting business problems and real-world challenges through Microsoft service offerings. Developers will be mentored by our Microsoft subject matter experts who will help them build the apps for tomorrow on Microsoft Azure.”

Microsoft Azure contains over 200 products and cloud services that can assist developers in solving today's challenges and creating solutions for the future. The company's mission is to enable developers to leverage the power of the cloud, allowing them to move from idea to code, code to cloud, and cloud to the world.

A series of developer-focused initiatives, such as the Blogathon Challenge, virtual training days, and the cloud skills challenge, have been launched to strengthen the Azure community, which is present in 100 Indian cities.
