In a groundbreaking move, Thomas Cook (India) Limited, the foremost omnichannel travel services company in India, and LTIMindtree, a global technology consulting and digital solutions company, have joined hands with Eurolife FFH, a prominent insurance group headquartered in Greece, serving a vast customer base of over 5,00,000 individuals with both life and non-life insurance offerings.

Their collaborative venture under the Green Carpet initiative, an innovative programme designed to track carbon emissions associated with business travel, aims to address the specific challenges encountered by organisations.

It equips them with a comprehensive toolkit for capturing, monitoring, analysing, reporting, and ultimately reducing their carbon footprint. The platform offers real-time insights into Scope 3 emissions, thus enabling organisations to significantly cut down on their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting expenses.

The inclusion of Eurolife FFH onto the Green Carpet platform underscores the growing imperative for global leaders to closely monitor and manage their carbon emissions while setting ambitious sustainability goals.

Madhavan Menon, Executive Chairman of Thomas Cook (India) Ltd, expressed his delight, saying, "We are thrilled to welcome Eurolife FFH to our groundbreaking Green Carpet sustainability initiative. Our united efforts emphasise the critical need for corporations worldwide to embrace sustainable practices and take responsibility for their carbon footprint.

"Through Green Carpet, we are paving the way for a greener and more responsible business landscape. Since its launch in March 2023, Green Carpet has garnered attention from prominent players in the international business landscape, and our acquisition pipeline is looking promising. This strategic initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to promoting sustainable business practices and contributing to environmental preservation."

Sanjay Tugnait, President and CEO of Fairfax Digital Services, emphasised the power of Green Carpet as an enabler for enterprise customers to accelerate their journey to achieving Net Zero.

He highlighted the exemplary partnership between Thomas Cook and Eurolife FFH, powered by the global expertise of Fairfax Digital in creating ESG solutions.

Tugnait stressed the importance of capturing, measuring, benchmarking, and reporting emissions, not only as a requirement by the UN for Scope 3 emissions but also as a social obligation to contribute to saving the planet.

Under the Green Carpet initiative, Thomas Cook India and LTIMindtree will provide the following advantages to Eurolife FFH:

  • Streamlined data capture and analysis of travel emissions with real-time dashboards.

  • Alignment with global sustainability frameworks.

  • Seamless integration with corporate business travel platforms.

  • Advanced AI and ML capabilities for in-depth analytics.

  • Support for decision-making in pursuit of enterprise net-zero objectives.

Alexander Sarrigeorgiou, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Eurolife FFH, expressed their commitment to making a positive impact on society, not only through insurance products but also through meaningful initiatives.

He highlighted their ambition to be a driving force for a more sustainable future and their enthusiasm in joining the 'Green Carpet' initiative within their overall ESG strategy.

Sarrigeorgiou emphasised the importance of supporting tools that combat climate change.

Sudhir Chaturvedi, President and Executive Board Member of LTIMindtree shared that their company's expertise in ESG and digital solutions is being leveraged to assist organisations in simplifying and accelerating their journey toward net zero.

The SaaS-based platform advances sustainability efforts by automating data capture, calculation, providing insightful analytics, and enabling emission reporting to foster sustainable business travel.

The initiative, launched in collaboration with Thomas Cook India, aims to enhance the monitoring and reporting of Scope 3 emissions in line with global standards, ultimately contributing to a more eco-friendly planet.
