Allianz reaffirmed its commitment to the global implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8) and allocated 28,000 Euros (equivalent to N11.820 million) from its Social Impact Fund to encourage youth employability in Nigeria.
Adeolu Adewumi-Zer, managing director and chief executive officer of Allianz Nigeria, announced at the 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the National Association of Insurance and Pension Correspondents in Lagos.
She stated that Allianz would donate 28,000 euros (N11.820 million) in Nigeria over the next three years to provide disabled individuals with digital skills that will improve their ability to make a life.
This contribution will come from the Allianz Social Impact Fund, which is devoted to the execution of Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8) in numerous countries throughout the world, she said.
The eighth Sustainable Development Goal recognises the significance of sustained economic growth and high levels of economic productivity for the establishment of well-paid, quality jobs, as well as resource efficiency in consumption and production.
She stated that in Nigeria, the SOS Children's Village would benefit from the fund aimed at bolstering holistic youth development to create an interactive and inclusive community.
