Albemarle is one of 418 companies across 11 sectors to be included in the 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI). GEI is a modified market capitalization-weighted index that tracks public companies committed to gender-data transparency. Only those with a USD1 billion market cap are eligible for the Index.

Albemarle Corporation, a global specialty chemicals leader, announced today that it is one of 418 companies across 11 sectors to be included in the 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), a modified market capitalization-weighted index that tracks public companies committed to gender-data transparency.

Albemarle made this year's index by scoring above Bloomberg's global threshold for disclosure and achievement or adoption of best-in-class statistics and policies across the framework's five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, gender pay and equal pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brand.

"We are honored that Albemarle's commitment to transparency and leadership in gender equality has again been recognized by the Bloomberg GEI," said CEO Kent Masters. "As a reflection of our values and to make Albemarle stronger, we are committed to setting and measuring company-wide goals that support gender equality around the world."

"We are proud to recognize Albemarle and the other 417 companies included in the 2022 GEI for their commitment to transparency and setting a new standard in gender-related data reporting," said Bloomberg Chairman and U.S. 30% Club Founding Chairman Peter T. Grauer. "GEI membership has increased despite the higher threshold. This shows that more companies are improving their gender-related metrics, giving diverse talent more chances to succeed."

The unranked GEI tracks the financial performance of public companies that support gender equality through policy development, representation, and transparency. All public companies are encouraged to disclose gender data for their Bloomberg Terminal investment profile, but only those with a USD1 billion market cap are eligible for the Index.
