Zerin Properties and Habitat Builders to Offer ESG Rating and Consulting Service
Zerin Properties and Habitat Builders Sdn Bhd launched their joint venture, Zerin Habitat Sdn Bhd, to enter the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) rating and consulting market.
According to a news release, Zerin Habitat is a Global ESG Benchmark for Real Assets (GRESB) partner that offers several services, including aiding participants with their ESG strategy and GRESB assessment completion.
Zerin Habitat chairman Previndran Singhe said:
"To avoid the worst impacts of climate change, the international community has set a goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050. As governments, cities, and individual companies plan for the future, it is clear that transitioning to a sustainable world is a challenge that we must face together."
The GRESB is a mission-driven, industry-led organisation that offers the financial markets actionable and transparent ESG data. It collects, verifies, assesses, and benchmarks ESG data to provide business information, engagement tools, and regulatory reporting solutions for investors, asset managers, and the industry as a whole.
"We are ready to serve the real estate and infrastructure community in Malaysia with a consistent framework to measure the ESG performance of individual assets and portfolios based on reported data," said Zerin Habitat.
According to the statement, GRESB performance assessments are influenced by what investors and the industry as a whole view as material issues and are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Climate Agreement, and major international reporting frameworks.
