Visy is taking another step away from single-use plastic with the launch of Australian-made paper bags.

These recyclable bags are now available in retail stores across the country.

Made from thicker paper with recycled content, the new bags are designed to be sturdy and reliable. They are also manufactured at Visy's plant in Melbourne, supporting local jobs.

"Our paper bags are a sustainable option for shoppers who forget their reusable bags or need an extra one," said Fiona Macleod, Visy's General Manager of Strategic Retail.

"By using Australian paper and manufacturing locally, we're reducing our reliance on plastic and supporting the Australian economy," she added. "Once finished with the bags, simply recycle them, and we'll turn them into new products."

The bags are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, ensuring the responsible sourcing of materials.
