Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) said that sales of its brand-new Prius Series Parallel Hybrid (HEV) models had begun. It will also launch Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) models around March this year.

When it came out in 1997, the Prius was the first mass-produced hybrid car in the world. As a new-generation eco-car with great fuel efficiency, it has helped HEVs become more popular. Nowadays, hybrid technologies are used in a wide variety of models that are liked and enjoyed by people worldwide.

Toyota wanted to make a new Prius HEV that customers would love and remember as their favourite car for years to come. To accomplish this, they were developing several carbon-neutral powertrain options.

This new model is an exhilarating package that combines a look that inspires love at first sight and captivating driving performance with its fundamental strength as an environmentally friendly car, developed under the "Hybrid Reborn" concept.
