Slicker Recycling and Safetykleen Europe join forces to ramp up used oil collection and re-refining.

This new partnership aims to double the amount of used oil collected from Safetykleen's UK business.

The two companies have been working together for nearly a decade, but this official partnership strengthens their commitment to the circular economy. Their goal? Reduce waste and keep used oil out of landfills and incinerators.

To handle the expected surge in used oil, Slicker Recycling is expanding its operations and staffing.

Win-Win for Sustainability

Mark Olpin, executive chairman of Slicker Recycling, said: “We are two of the largest and fastest growing environmental and sustainability specialists, so our partnership is great news for both businesses. Not only does it formalise how we work together, but it also gives the opportunity for more used oil to be collected, re-refined and put back into the economy in a sustainable way.”

Oliver Kunc, managing director UK and Ireland at Safetykleen, added: “Slicker Recycling have first-class credentials in the industry across the UK and Europe and will play a key role in collecting, receiving, and re-refining double the amount of used oil from our customers. That’s good news for not only the sector but also the wider economy, as we are two specialist businesses who know and understand the impact we can have.”

Expansion on the Horizon

Last year, Slicker Recycling acquired UK-based Oil Monster, following their purchase of US oil treatment company Hydrodec in 2021. Currently, the company collects and re-refines over 75 million litres of used oil and commercial garage waste annually.
