PressOn, a company that has won multiple awards for large-format digital printing and installation, has invested in a second HP Latex R2000 printer so that it can do more work in profitable markets like transport livery.

PressOn has also been working to reduce its environmental impact while providing clients with more information and opportunities for sustainable print solutions. The new press has made a big difference in how sustainable companies are by giving their clients designs, processes, and services that are good for the environment.

For example, PressOn recently used the HP Latex R2000 printer to wrap six electric taxis in London as part of an ongoing effort to show how eco-friendly printing can be done. PressOn insisted on using products that are good for the environment, so they worked with HP and Metamark to make the cab's branding out of self-adhesive vinyl that can be recycled.

With the project continuing into 2023, PressOn hopes to find more ways to recycle with more of their customers in the future. This shows how committed the company is to innovation and sustainability.

Since opening in 2000, PressOn has specialised in high-quality large-format digital printing for both indoor and outdoor advertising purposes. In that time, the business has counted the likes of Harrods, Dior, and Fendi among its high-profile clients.

PressOn has worked with HP for more than 15 years, and this has helped the company ensure that its inks and printers care about the environment. For example, PressOn uses solely UL ECOLOGO and Greenguard-certified HP latex water-based inks to ensure the elimination of any harmful emissions. HP also played a role in PressOn's decision to stop using PVC as its main substrate and switch to PVC-free vinyl and polyester PET materials, which are less harmful.

Andy Wilson is the Managing Director of the company. He has been looking for ways for PressOn to keep its reputation as a creative, award-winning digital printing company while improving its green credentials.

Andy Wilson, Managing Director at PressOn, said: “Our focus for next year is to continue educating our customers on new and best printing practices with minimal environmental impact. The key to our successful, sustainable future is to find like-minded partners that share similar values so the company can evolve naturally on the sustainable front.”

He continues, “This is why we continue to invest in HP’s portfolio of latex printers as the devices have an incredible colour gamut and environmental credentials, helping us support our customers’ demand for an environmentally sound supply chain without compromising on print quality.”

PressOn is also signed up for HP’s Planet Partners recycling programme. HP’s printers use water-based HP Latex inks, and by using the Planet Partners programme, this ensures all cartridges can be recycled when empty through a closed loop process where nothing goes to landfill.

Jane Rixon, Business Development Manager at HP Large Format Production UK & Ireland, said: "For large format printing companies, creating a truly sustainable business is both a social good and an economic opportunity, which can drive cost efficiencies, stimulate the development of circular services, and win business from eco-conscious brands. We were delighted to be part of PressOn's electric vehicle wrapping project, helping the business continue its sustainability journey by showcasing low-impact environmental printing."
