OCP Group, a leading fertiliser company based in Morocco, has entered an agreement with ENGIE, a global energy and services company, to help the former transition to cleaner energy and support Morocco's overall energy transition.

The companies signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to work on projects like renewable energy, energy storage, green hydrogen, and sustainable desalination.

The following are the main goals of the partnership:

  • Develop storage systems and renewable energy sources to ensure flexibility within OCP Group’s energy network.

  • Create on-site electrical infrastructure that connects to the new renewable energy sources.

  • Develop green ammonia production capacity and study other green energy products like e-methanol and e-SAF.

  • Construct facilities to desalinate water for agricultural use in areas where OCP operates.

The partnership is in line with Morocco's goals for cleaner energy and helps address environmental and energy challenges.
