JB Financial Group said that the Korea ESG Standards Institute (KCGS) chose it as an excellent ESG company at the "2022 Excellent Company Awards Ceremony."

To select the best ESG companies, KCGS has extensively analysed non-financial levels such as environmental management (Environment), socially responsible management (Social), and governance (Governance) of listed companies since 2011.

This year, KCGS evaluated a total of 1,033 companies. As a result of the ESG evaluation, JB Financial Group got an A in the environment sector, an A+ in the social sector, and an A in the governance sector, giving it an overall A.

In June 2021, JB Financial Holdings revealed its ESG management strategy for the mid-to-long term, as well as its ESG goal: "JB Finance, going together to a better future."

The company is also working to improve group ESG management through the ESG Committee, which is made up of all board members, and the "ESG Council," which was made up of key executives and ESG staff from affiliates.

JB Financial Holdings is the second South Korean financial company to get approval from the Science-based Target Initiative (SBTi) for carbon reduction goals in 2022. It is working on a carbon-neutral implementation plan on a global scale.

At the same time, the company is working to improve its socially responsible management so that it can take the lead in helping local communities and the underserved.

“With this selection of excellent ESG companies, JB Financial Group will further strengthen its responsibilities and roles and take the lead in practising sincere and advanced ESG management,” said an official from JB Financial Group.
