Hana Financial Group, a financial holding firm headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, has received an "AA" rating in Morgan Stanley Capital International's (MSCI) 2022 ESG evaluation.

The group's ranking increased by one notch compared to the prior assessment.

“The rise in the MSCI ESG evaluation ratings is the result of the group's active push for ESG management,” a Hana Financial Group official said. “We are glad that MSCI ESG judges recognised our efforts towards ESG management. We will practice our mission of 'finance for shared growth and happiness.'"

S&P Global recently announced that Hana Financial Group ranked first in the world in the baking category of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices for 2022. The firm has also obtained approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its carbon reduction targets.
