Ego Reduces Waste with Recyclable QV Product Packaging
Ego aims for 100% of its cosmetic packaging to be reusable or recyclable.
The company also collaborates with other businesses to manufacture plastic tubes in an environmentally responsible manner.
Ego Pharmaceuticals, an Australian skincare company, has switched to green packaging for its QV skincare product line.
The company is switching from a material called "laminate" to "LDPE," a recyclable plastic. The aim is to save around 18 tonnes of waste from going to landfills every year, and the new packaging can be recycled at home.
This development shows Ego's commitment to sustainability. The transition has already started with some QV products in the Middle East, Asia, and Australia, with plans to cover more items in the coming years, depending on the production schedules.
“This project has been two years in the making, and has involved extensive production and stability trials for key products,” said Ego’s Packaging Projects & Studio Manager, Simone Thomassen.
“This meticulous approach ensures that the transition to LDPE packaging maintains the high standards of product quality that consumers expect from the QV brand.”
The company aims for all its cosmetic packaging to be reusable or recyclable, and this shift is the first step toward achieving this aim.
