Tercek worked at Goldman Sachs as Managing Director and Partner, where he developed the firm's environmental strategy and led the Environmental Markets Group, as well as leading several practice areas, including Corporate Finance, Real Estate Investment Banking, and Equity Capital Markets, and the firm's leadership development. Following his time at Goldman, he became CEO of the Nature Conservancy, the world's biggest global conservation organisation, where he oversaw a $7 billion fundraising effort and formed the DGEI department. Tercek currently provides environmental advice to businesses, investors, and non-governmental organisations.

Tercek has served on the boards and councils of several international organisations as an advisor, including the President's Council of Resources for the Future, the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, Harvard Business School's Social Enterprise Initiative, and the Rockefeller Foundation Economic Council on Planetary Health, to name a few. He is now a member of the Board of Trustees of Williams College.

“We think ESG is in some form going to impact any company from what is going to be good business practice, how will that impact the creation of value and how companies think about where they want to put capital to work,” Centerview Co-Founder Blair Effron said in an interview.
