Aqua Metals, Inc., a trailblazing force in the realm of sustainable lithium-ion battery recycling, has been bestowed with the distinguished title of 'Leader in Sustainability' by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) as part of their Existing Industry Awards initiative.

This recognition also drew commendations from U.S. Congressman Amodei and U.S. Senator Cortez-Masto, as well as felicitations from the Office of Nevada Lieutenant Governor Anthony. These accolades serve to acknowledge Aqua Metals' pivotal role in establishing an eco-conscious circular supply chain for critical minerals, thereby bolstering the state's clean energy sector.

Steve Cotton, President and Chief Executive Officer of Aqua Metals, expressed his gratitude for the award and accolades, emphasising the company's unwavering commitment to constructing a sustainable clean energy supply chain within the state of Nevada.

He underscored the significance of this juncture in the global transition towards an electrified economy driven by renewable energy sources. Furthermore, he stressed the potential for Nevada's communities to become catalysts in steering this shift towards a sustainable future.

He further underscored Aqua Metals' enthusiasm for spearheading this endeavour, characterised by the creation of secure, well-paying jobs that Nevadan families can take pride in, alongside substantial investments in new facilities and operations within the Tahoe-Reno area.

Cotton highlighted Aqua Metals' resolute focus on decarbonising the domestic supply of crucial battery metals through their groundbreaking lithium battery recycling technology.

He expressed gratitude for the support received from EDAWN and extended congratulations to fellow awardees in the sustainability category, such as Patagonia. These entities, he noted, represent the vanguards of sustainable business practices in Western Nevada.

EDAWN, in response to the awards, conveyed their delight in recognising Aqua Metals for their exceptional dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Taylor Adams, President and CEO of EDAWN, commended Aqua Metals' steadfast commitment to clean energy and their substantial contributions to the burgeoning lithium economy in the region. Adams hailed Aqua Metals not only for charting a path towards a more sustainable future but also for propelling the growth of a cleaner, greener, and economically thriving Northern Nevada.
