Air Liquide's 2022 biodiversity commitments have garnered recognition and validation from the Act4nature International initiative, signifying a significant achievement for the company and underlining its dedication to safeguarding biodiversity.

The Act4nature international initiative has officially approved Air Liquide's commitment to several key initiatives: (a) strengthening the inclusion of biodiversity assessment criteria in the investment process for all new projects by 2024, (b) developing and implementing an aggregated biodiversity indicator by 2025, (c) increasing awareness among its employees regarding biodiversity, and (d) reasserting the Group's climate and water goals.

These commitments exemplify the company's acknowledgement of the critical role of biodiversity in upholding ecological equilibrium, preserving natural resources, and ensuring the well-being of both communities and wildlife.

Air Liquide's dedication to biodiversity aligns seamlessly with its broader sustainability objectives. In its quest to address pressing environmental concerns, particularly the battle against climate change, the company is actively working to minimise its CO2 emissions and chart a course towards carbon neutrality by 2050.

Simultaneously, it is expanding its array of low-carbon solutions to cater to its customers, encompassing renewable and low-carbon hydrogen, carbon capture technologies, and an increased utilisation of renewable energy throughout its operations.

Diana Schillag, Vice President and member of the Air Liquide Executive Committee responsible for Sustainable Development, commented:

"Air Liquide has already outlined tangible steps to realise its carbon neutrality commitment by 2050. Beyond addressing climate change, we recognise the need to extend our efforts to consider our impact on the entire spectrum of our planet.

"This impetus drove us to engage in biodiversity preservation with the explicit commitments made in 2022, and we take immense pride in Act4nature's recognition of our endeavours.

"A fundamental component of our strategic plan ADVANCE, sustainability has evolved into a foundational element of Air Liquide's business development, and we will gradually integrate biodiversity criteria into our investment processes, just as we do for CO2 emissions."
