Vedanta has proudly unveiled the third iteration of its globally renowned corporate innovation, accelerator, and ventures programme, Vedanta Spark.

This initiative is designed to extend over 100 project opportunities, valued at a staggering $5 million, to startups specialising in sustainable and transformative technologies.

Building on the remarkable success of its preceding two editions, which engaged with over 80 startups and facilitated more than 120 opportunities with a total value of approximately $3.5 million, Spark 3.0 is poised to play a pivotal role in propelling Vedanta's evolution while fostering the growth of the participating startups.

Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc Limited and Non-Executive Director of Vedanta Limited expressed, "Vedanta Spark 3.0 stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to nurturing innovation and collaboration. This endeavour not only underscores our dedication to cultivating a startup culture but also facilitates meaningful collaborations between businesses and some of the most brilliant minds in our nation.

"Additionally, it sets the stage for the emergence of the next generation of industry leaders. This year, we are particularly keen on accentuating our focus on ESG transformation through inventive solutions and are enthusiastic about supporting more women-led startups."

Vedanta Spark follows an innovative approach to nurturing startups by inviting solutions to address tangible business challenges.

Selected startups are granted the unique opportunity to execute projects in partnership with Vedanta Group companies, gaining access to world-class infrastructure, resources, and insights from seasoned in-house experts. This empowering framework enables startups to refine their products, scale their operations, and achieve sustainable growth.

Arun Misra, CEO of the Zinc Sector and Executive Director of Vedanta Limited, responsible for Digital and serving as the Spark Anchor, emphasised, "The Spark initiative impeccably aligns with the Group's overarching vision of supporting startups that harness groundbreaking technologies to solve real-world business issues, thereby shaping the trajectory of the industry's future."

In collaboration with strategic partners such as MeitY and Nasscom's Center of Excellence for IoT & AI, CII's Center of Excellence for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, & Start-ups, and notable industry players like Forge Innovation & Ventures, Vedanta is committed to accelerating engagements that harness emerging technologies.

The initiative has also forged a partnership with global entity Austmine to advance technological advancements within the natural resources sector.

Amitesh Sinha, Head of Vedanta Spark, highlighted, "Spark 3.0 aims to bring forth a dynamic array of more than 100 initiatives, with opportunities amounting to $5 million this year. This will be achieved by joining forces with innovative startups and harnessing their cutting-edge technologies. This collaboration serves as a formidable catalyst for Vedanta's mission of creating substantial impact through open innovation and technology utilisation."

At its core, this initiative pivots around three key areas of focus: enhancing business efficiency, driving digital transformations, and attaining Net Zero sustainability objectives. Participating startups will collaborate across Vedanta's portfolio of companies, offering them a platform to showcase their trailblazing ideas.

With the launch of Vedanta Spark 3.0, the Vedanta Group underscores its steadfast commitment to fostering innovation and empowering startups to catalyse positive change, disrupt industries, and leave an enduring mark on the global stage.
