Newmark Group, Inc., a prominent advisor and service provider in the commercial real estate sector catering to large institutional investors, global corporations, and various property owners, has unveiled its 2022 Corporate Responsibility Report (CRR).

In this inaugural publication, Newmark delineates its policies and strategies aimed at fostering sustainable long-term value for the company, its shareholders, clients, and workforce. Simultaneously, these efforts are designed to mitigate risks, curtail costs, safeguard brand integrity, and identify emerging market opportunities.

Barry Gosin, Chief Executive Officer of Newmark, emphasised the organisation's commitment to robust values, corporate citizenship, and a longstanding history of assisting clients in enhancing the sustainability of their properties.

He affirmed Newmark's unwavering focus on contributing to a more dynamic, resilient, and inclusive commercial real estate industry, with the company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) progress and goals serving as foundational elements for its promising future.

Key highlights from the 2022 report include the establishment of an ESG Executive Committee comprised of executive and senior leadership to guide progress and initiatives.

Newmark Global Corporate Services (GCS) achieved a Silver Sustainability Rating from EcoVadis, a leading provider of business sustainability ratings, recognising Newmark's sustainability management and performance.

Collaborating with the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council, Newmark integrated 15,000 certified minority suppliers into its bid process. LinkedIn's 2022 "Top Companies in Real Estate" list ranked Newmark as the #1 company, affirming its status as an ideal place for career growth in the industry.

Caroline Koster, General Counsel, ESG, and Corporate Secretary, highlighted the inaugural report's role in consolidating the company's ongoing efforts. It encapsulates Newmark's dedication to employees, fostering a dynamic mix of people and ideas to enhance business performance, enrich employee experiences, and engage with communities. The company places value on hard work, innovation, superior client service, strong ethics, equal opportunities, charity, and corporate social responsibility for sustainable growth.

Mia Overall, Vice President of ESG, underscored the increasing importance of environmental solutions, health and wellness options in the built environment, and an inclusive and incentivised workplace for clients and employees. Newmark's formalised public ESG disclosures reflect its commitment, and the company is poised to further develop ESG policies, practices, and goals, embedding them into operating standards and corporate strategy.
