Point B Expands ESG Offerings Through Acquisition of Sustainable Business Consulting

Point B, an international consulting organisation focused on tackling the world's most pressing issues, recently announced the purchase of Sustainable Business Consulting (SBC), a firm dedicated to offering ESG-focused solutions.
This acquisition broadens Point B's extensive ESG offerings, especially in climate action, supply chain risk, ESG reporting, regulatory compliance, and integrated strategy.
According to Gwen Migita, Executive Director of ESG at Point B, there is a growing demand for thoughtful, integrated Climate Action and Social Impact and Justice advice across companies, philanthropies, and institutions.
The SBC acquisition demonstrates Point B's commitment to connecting knowledge, climate action technology, social impact measurements, reporting, and policy insights for its increasing customer base.
This is an exciting next stage for Point B and our ESG practice, advancing our vision to be an impact-oriented organisation. Adding SBC’s values-driven culture, deep talent and thought leadership to Point B’s ESG practice creates an immediate opportunity to make a bigger impact on humanity and the environment," Migita said.
SBC's mission since its inception in Seattle in 2004 has been to lead and inspire businesses to create a better world through the perspective of sustainability. SBC's staff brings more than 240 customers from 11 industries to Point B's list, including prominent names like Delta Airlines, New York Life, Expedia, REI, and Estee Lauder Companies.
Kevin Wilhelm, SBC’s CEO and founder, said:
"This acquisition is a natural step for both our team and Point B. Not only are our values aligned, but together, we will bring industry-leading ESG expertise, service, products & technologies to help global brands meet today’s business challenges - whether it be financial, or around climate change, equity and justice."
Point B's acquisition of SBC will strengthen its position as a thought leader in sustainability, ESG strategy, and frameworks. SBC adds high-calibre talents with extensive experience to Point B's existing team of experts, bringing relevant expertise in a talent-constrained environment.
Ruth Lee, SBC’s Senior Vice President, said:
"The speed of change is increasing; programs and initiatives around transparency and reporting like deep Scope 3 assessments and meaningful supplier engagement will place a great deal of stress on organisations which have not begun to take steps to meet reporting requirements. We are doing the work now, building our capacity and talent to meet the challenge."
