EDHEC startup Les Polettes, a sustainable women's sportswear founded by Sabine Thouvenin, has raised €150,000 in its first funding round.

Sabine Thouvenin is an alumna of the EDHEC Business School in France, and she co-founded Les Polettes with Manon Fisher.

The money secured will be used to expand the growth of responsible women's sportswear as well as the sustainable sportswear sector across France and Europe.

The duo launched the brand around two years ago, and within a short period, it earned a reputation for itself with 100% made-in-France products.

Inspired by pole dance, blending athleticism with artistic expression, the brand encapsulates the spirit of sisterhood through colourful and technical collections.

Over the years, the startup has formed a loyal clientele of athletes, associated with 25 fitness studios, sponsored four competitions (national and international), and launched three original product lines.

With the proceeds, the founders are planning to widen their product line to include gear for yoga, Pilates, and cross-training; invest in recycled and sustainable materials with circular fashion at the core; and strengthen local production in France.

Les Polettes is now part of the generalist incubator at Station F, one of the largest startup campuses in the world, for the next stage of their growth.
