Freudenberg Performance Materials Apparel, a leading innovator in technical solutions for the fashion industry, is excited to introduce two cutting-edge thermal insulation products, both crafted from low-level Bisphenol A (BPA) recycled PET fibres (rPET), into the worldwide collection of comfortemp®, Freudenberg's renowned thermal insulation brand.

The launch of DOWN FEEL WA 150LB and FIBERBALL WB 400LB underscores Freudenberg's unwavering dedication to fostering innovation and sustainability.

The inclusion of DOWN FEEL WA 150LB and FIBERBALL WB 400LB within the global comfortemp® lineup offers premium and eco-conscious alternatives to traditional down insulation, elevating both comfort and environmental sustainability in your apparel.

DOWN FEEL WA 150LB is extraordinarily lightweight thermal insulation with loose fibres and a superbly lofty feel. Meanwhile, FIBERBALL WB 400LB employs clusters of extra-fine fibres, ensuring optimal breathability, maximum comfort, and minimal clumping following washing and drying.

Recognised for their adherence to sustainability standards, both products proudly bear the GRS (Global Recycle Standard) certification and exceed the stringent OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 Class I certification, renowned for its rigorous safety criteria, even suitable for baby products.

Notably, these new products contain less than 1 part per million (ppm) of BPA, significantly surpassing OEKO-TEX®'s definition of low-level BPA as less than 100 ppm, underscoring Freudenberg's uncompromising quality benchmarks.

Merry Chen, the Head of Global R&D and Product Compliance at Freudenberg Performance Materials Apparel, highlighted the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and sustainability, aligning with market expectations for safer, responsible products that uphold performance and quality. "The DOWN FEEL WA 150LB and FIBERBALL WB 400LB products exemplify this commitment by delivering innovative thermal insulation that prioritises performance and customer well-being as we expand our House of Sustainability."

The House of Sustainability (HoS), an initiative by Freudenberg Apparel, stands at the forefront of driving sustainability in the fashion industry, providing over 500 pioneering solutions to shape a more sustainable future. The introduction of DOWN FEEL WA 150LB and FIBERBALL WB 400LB brings the latest advancements from HoS to customers, offering responsible products for each fashion season.

Furthermore, complementing these innovations in the European product line is HO 80xR, an addition to the comfortemp® range and HoS for this manufacturing season. This groundbreaking thermal insulation is manufactured from recycled polyamide 6, sourced from plastic waste, including fishing nets, industrial plastic, and carpet flooring.

Boasting 70% recycled polyamide fibres, this insulation extends the sustainability of garments designed for recycling and reuse, epitomising Freudenberg's environmental commitment and circular design principles.

Both DOWN FEEL WA 150LB and FIBERBALL WB 400LB are accessible worldwide, while additional low-level BPA thermal insulation options are available in the Asian market. HO 80xR is available in Europe, contributing to Freudenberg's ongoing pursuit of sustainable and innovative solutions for the fashion industry.
