In honour of Earth Day 2023, Henry Schein, Inc. has unveiled Practice Green, a worldwide initiative aimed at inspiring healthcare practitioners in the U.S. and Canada to adopt eco-friendly practices.
Practice Green seeks to empower the healthcare community by establishing sustainable measures for a healthier planet.
Henry Schein has been promoting eco-friendly products through its U.S. Global Reflections® Programme since 2008, which has now evolved into Practice Green™, launched earlier this year in the EMEA region and Australia.
The programme offers dental and medical customers in the U.S. and Canada environmentally-friendly services, solutions, and support to implement sustainable practices while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Practice Green is part of Henry Schein's commitment to environmental stewardship and corporate citizenship, aligning with the company's values and launched in observance of Earth Day.
The initiative aims to engage customers in transitioning to a green economy for a better planet, with plans to expand the offerings over time to meet the changing healthcare landscape.
The Practice Green portfolio includes a curated collection of dental products selected by Henry Schein as 'green' based on supplier partner information and categorised as reusable, made from recycled materials, recyclable, biodegradable, or from sustainable sources. Medical products are also being reviewed for inclusion in the portfolio.
Henry Schein is also implementing carbon-neutral shipping in its U.S. network during April as part of its Earth Day celebrations, in line with its commitment to mitigating climate impact and practising smart resource usage.
Henry Schein is actively measuring, monitoring, and reporting on its carbon emissions and environmental impacts and has committed to setting science-based targets for emissions reduction through the Business Ambition for 1.5⁰C initiative. The company has also established an Environmental Impact Council in 2022 to drive sustainability efforts and results.
