Global footwear leader Crocs released its 2023 Comfort Report, detailing its commitment to environmental responsibility, social impact, and ethical practices.

This third annual report reinforces Crocs' enduring purpose: Creating a More Comfortable World for All. It shows progress across three key areas: environmental well-being (Comfort for the Planet), community investment (Comfort for Our Communities), and inclusivity (Comfort for All People).

Circular Economy Initiatives

A highlight of 2023 was the successful pilot of the "Old Crocs. New Life" programme. This take-back initiative gives used Crocs a new lease on life, diverting them from landfills. The programme's success led to its expansion across all U.S. retail stores and online customers in 2024.

Crocs also ramped up the use of bio-based materials in its signature Croslite™ material. Since August 2023, the company has surpassed its goal of a 20% average monthly bio-circular content, resulting in a 6.1% reduction in the Classic Clog's carbon footprint compared to 2021. This progress aligns with Crocs' ambition of achieving a 50% carbon reduction for the Classic Clog by 2030 and Net Zero emissions by 2040.

"We are proud of the progress our teams made in 2023 in support of our Purpose strategy, both in making improvements and strengthening programs toward positive impact for people and planet," said Deanna Bratter, Vice President, Global Head of Sustainability, Crocs, Inc. "How we grow matters, and we recognize we have a responsibility to infuse our Purpose into everything we do so that we can continue to do good for our business, the planet, our communities and our employees."

Community Impact and Inclusive Practices

In 2023, Crocs strategically directed its resources to support impactful non-profit partnerships, donating over $12 million in both funds and footwear. Also, the company strengthened its supply chain oversight, ensuring adherence to social and environmental responsibility standards.

Crocs also updated its inclusion approach, supporting its "Come As You Are" outlook throughout employee experience and marketing initiatives to create a more inviting atmosphere for both employees and customers.

"Our teams achieved impressive top- and bottom-line growth in 2023 while continuing to move the needle on our Purpose," said Andrew Rees, Chief Executive Officer, Crocs, Inc. "In 2024, we plan to further align our successful business growth with greater positive impact for all our stakeholders."

Sustainable Growth for a More Comfortable World

Crocs understands how critical it is to reduce its negative effects on the environment and promote wellbeing in the communities it works with. Even after a year of record-breaking success, the company is still dedicated to profitable and sustainable growth. This allows for continued investment in innovation and the delivery of high-quality products that exceed customer expectations, all while contributing to a healthier planet and happier communities.
