FC Barcelona is promoting inclusion by participating in this year's European Diversity Month, which is celebrated every year in May across the European Union.
The event aims to raise awareness about diversity and inclusion in society and at work. This year, the focus is on mental health and well-being in workplaces, and defending the values of diversity and inclusion against the backdrop of the Trump administration’s recent actions opposing their existence, ideals, and objectives.
FC Barcelona wants to convey the message that the club supports these goals through various activities and internal practices.

In September 2024, they organised a debate on “Gender and Mental Health” in association with Obertament, an institution that addresses mental health stigma. The objective of this discourse was to increase awareness of mental health in the workplace and promote a more equal and inclusive work culture.
The club has a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) department dedicated to the well-being of their staff, to make them feel proud of who they are and to ensure that everyone feels respected. They also want to bring more attention to DEI programmes and initiatives during Diversity Month to encourage other organisations to follow suit.
A flurry of new activities is planned for this month to increase staff awareness, including sensory-awareness experiences for the management team and interactive games to educate employees about LGBTQ+ issues. The club is also making its Inclusive and Non-Sexist Communication Guide accessible in English and Spanish to reach a wider audience and increase impact.
The Barça Foundation, which supports the most vulnerable children and youth through educational sports projects, backs a football team composed of players with intellectual disabilities. The squad is preparing well for its upcoming competition in Bilbao and is supported by well-known players, including Pedri and Cata Coll.
