22live has become the first audio rental company to earn the AGF Greener Supplier certification.
This official recognition shows the company's efforts to protect the environment by cutting waste and emissions.
The AGF certification helps events, venues, and tours find green suppliers more easily. It verifies a company’s sustainable practices, saving businesses and clients time in proving their sustainability efforts.
For 22live, it took six months of perseverance to meet the strict standards. With help from HR consultant Claudette Barker-Dix, the company gathered data on energy use, waste, and transportation to calculate its carbon footprint. They also developed new green policies and set sustainability goals.
This journey has made 22live a more environmentally conscious company. Employees are showing huge interest in the changes, and the company has started its own small woodland by planting a tree for each new hire.
Paul Timmins, Hire Director at 22live, said: "It was August 2023 when I took the call and was asked if we would consider applying for the AGF accreditation. A year on and we are delighted to be one of the first suppliers in the industry to receive the certification. It’s enabled us to look at our operation and deliver audio rental in the most sustainable way possible. People do care about this and as hire director I hope artists and management recognise what we are doing and make good choices in terms of audio supply in the future.”
