Southwest Airlines Co. has announced the release of its annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) reports, including the Southwest Airlines One Report and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Report.

Southwest takes a holistic approach to its corporate citizenship initiatives, and the reports showcase its commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen. The reports focus on People, Performance, and Planet and provide an overview of the airline's key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and DEI efforts from 2022.

The 2022 One Report now includes information based on the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework, which enhances Southwest's reporting on climate-related matters for its stakeholders.

The report also features the airline's updated climate strategy, which includes targets to attain net zero carbon emissions by 2050, reduce its carbon emissions intensity by 25% by 2030, and by 50% by 2035.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Report by Southwest Airlines complements the One Report and concentrates on the company's present DEI objectives while maintaining its momentum in this area. Southwest is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees can flourish, feel respected and valued, and have a genuine sense of belonging.

Bob Jordan, President & CEO of Southwest Airlines, said, "Our priorities are centred on supporting causes that are important to our people and local and global communities. These priorities include promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce, establishing targets and disclosing plans to tackle carbon emissions, and investing in community partnerships that make a difference. The 2022 One Report and DEI Report demonstrate our continuous dedication to fostering a caring culture by serving our people, customers, and communities through our corporate citizenship and DEI endeavours."

Southwest is proud to be included on Newsweek's America's Most Responsible Companies 2023 list. The list, which recognises the top 500 companies for their ESG initiatives, was developed in collaboration with research firm Statista and assessed the ESG efforts of 2,000 firms. Southwest's approach to corporate responsibility, which encompasses all three pillars of ESG, contributed to its recognition on the list.
