Mariana Gheorghe has opted not to be reappointed to the Supervisory Board at the next General Meeting of Shareholders in 2023, according to ING.

Mariana Gheorghe was elected to the Supervisory Board at the General Meeting in May 2015 and was re-elected for a second, four-year term in 2019.

Mariana Gheorghe is on the Nomination and Corporate Governance Committee, the Remuneration Committee, the Risk Committee, and the ESG Committee. Her current term will end at the General Meeting in 2023.

The process of choosing and putting forward a candidate for the Supervisory Board at the 2023 General Meeting is already underway.

“We regret but understand Mariana’s decision. While we will properly thank her when she really leaves our Board next year, I already want to take the opportunity now to show our gratitude for her valuable contributions over the past seven years,” said Hans Wijers, chairman of the Supervisory Board of ING Group.
