Yarra Hires First Chief Sustainability Officer

Yarra Capital Management (Yarra) has named Dr Erin Kuo as the firm's first Chief Sustainability Officer.
Dr. Kuo, who is based in Melbourne, has over 15 years of experience working in the field of sustainability. She will be in charge of Yarra's corporate sustainability and collaborate closely with Yarra's investment teams to enable best-practice ESG integration into the firm's investment operations.
Dr. Kuo used to run a consulting company that helped fund managers and family offices with ESG issues. She formerly served as Chief Impact Officer at Impact Investment Group and held key positions at Impact Investing Australia and Pacific Corporate Group, the world's largest cleantech private equity investor, where she oversaw projects in the United States, India, and Australia.
Dr. Kuo formerly worked as a university researcher and lecturer on sustainability assessment and social effects, as well as a project leader for the Victorian Government and the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia on social business and impact investment.
Previously, she worked as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley, where she built and led community development and environmental programmes for non-profits in the United States. Dr. Kuo has a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science from the University of California and a Doctor of Philosophy from Monash University. She has also worked as an Adjunct Fellow at the Centre for Social Impact at Swinburne University.
