The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has introduced a new online platform to help online gambling businesses adopt environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and good governance practices.

Following the release of its "Voluntary ESG Code of Good Practice for the Remote Gaming Sector in Malta" last November, the MGA has created a dedicated hub to support companies in implementing the code's guidelines. This framework aims to grow transparency, encourage ESG reporting, and help companies compare their performance with industry peers.

Developed through extensive research and industry consultation, the code covers 19 ESG areas and offers a two-tier reporting system to accommodate different company sizes and maturity levels. Businesses that follow the code will receive an MGA ESG Code Approval Seal.

While participation is voluntary, the MGA encourages companies to adopt the code to show their responsibility for sustainability and improve the industry's overall ESG standing. The new portal provides a centralised source of information and resources to assist companies in their sustainability journey.
