Apex Group Ltd., a global financial services company, said that it would be expanding its Global Compliance Solutions to serve the Australian market, led by Karen Waldon-White.

The Global Compliance Solutions team at Apex Group is growing. It gives clients tech-enabled compliance solutions that help them meet their operational and regulatory obligations in international financial hubs.

From regulatory licencing support to ongoing compliance advisory for existing and future regulatory requirements, this agile, global, single-source solution delivers efficiency, simplifies compliance, and enables business opportunities.

This news comes after Apex Group recently grew its Global Compliance Solutions business in Singapore and the US. Compliance services are now available in more than 13 jurisdictions across four regions. This gives clients access to global expertise in both entity and fund level compliance.

Compliance Solutions' expansion into the Australian market will help financial services companies address their clients' risks and concerns about ESG, AML, and financial crime. It will also help superannuation funds with compliance consulting services.

Apex Group's solutions are made to meet needs in four key areas of the Australian market:

  • Superannuation compliance services: Design, implementation and independent review of compliance and risk frameworks, incident and breach management for reportable situations and specialist training for superannuation funds.

  • Managed due diligence: Support for corporate trustee boards, investment managers and advisers with technology-enabled diligence solutions.

  • Technology-enabled training: Provision of CPD, RG146 superannuation training and refresher course and maintenance of training plans in superannuation.

  • ESG & Sustainability Compliance: ESG investment governance; support for marketing; sustainability labels and disclosure, including controls in the offer; promotion and marketing of ESG and sustainability products; ESG assurance testing; and ESG and Sustainability preference guidelines.

Karen Waldon-White will be in charge of Global Compliance Solutions in Australia. She has nearly 20 years of experience running compliance, training, and product teams in superannuation.

Hari Bhambra, Global Head of Compliance Solutions at Apex Group, comments:

“We are excited to announce the continued expansion of our established Compliance Solutions offering into new jurisdictions with our launch in Australia. We have seen specific demand for our ESG-related services in the Australian superannuation market, with 81% of the industry undertaking a commitment to responsible investment, and look forward to playing our part in supporting the superannuation industry’s transition to responsible and sustainable investment strategies. We view compliance as a business enabler, and our solutions will enable Australia’s investment managers, corporate trustee boards, and trustee offices of super funds to navigate the opportunities that regulatory compliance can create for their businesses.”
