ACI World AGA: Airports' Clean Energy & Cyber Focus

In the 33rd Airports Council International (ACI) World Annual General Assembly (WAGA), airports worldwide came together to address key resolutions on cleaner energy transition and cyber threats, laying the groundwork for a sustainable and resilient aviation ecosystem.
Clean Energy Transition and ESG Practices
To achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050, the Resolution titled "Leading through cleaner energy transition and robust ESG practices" calls upon governments and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to collaborate with financial institutions to facilitate green finance access for aviation and support Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) development.
Airports are urged to adopt Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices and join the global effort to accelerate SAF deployment.
Enhancing Cybersecurity in Aviation
Acknowledging the interconnected and technology-driven nature of the aviation industry, the Resolution on "Addressing evolving cyber threats in aviation" emphasises the importance of fortifying cybersecurity measures.
All aviation stakeholders are encouraged to strengthen their awareness and mitigation strategies. The Resolution calls for the utilisation of existing international standards and frameworks for the development of aviation cybersecurity guidelines and urges governments to support the growth of a skilled aviation cybersecurity workforce.
