This partnership has already delivered battery storage solutions for industrial and commercial energy users in Ireland.
  • Aims to support the transition to a cleaner, net zero energy future for the UK and Ireland.

  • By installing battery storage and other green energy solutions, businesses can save money and reduce energy interruptions.

Triodos Investment Management, a global leader in impact investment, has collaborated with GridBeyond, a company that helps transition to a greener future, to invest in battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the UK and Ireland.

A total of EUR 12.5 million has been set aside for this purpose. This partnership, formed two years ago, has been successful, and both parties are pumping more money into the development of new energy projects.

The companies will install two battery storage systems, one in Scotland and the other in Ireland, with a total capacity of 8MWh.

GridBeyond Storage is also working on solar power systems (behind-the-meter or BTM solar PV), and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for businesses, besides battery energy solutions.

Through this partnership, the companies help commercial and industrial customers benefit from energy reliability, cost savings, and a reduced carbon footprint by adding battery storage and other clean energy solutions.

Their tie-up began in 2022 with a 50/50 joint venture to build energy storage projects for businesses. One project has already been completed in Ireland, and another in Scotland is expected to be finished by 2025.
