SLB’s New Carbon Storage Solutions Speed Up Decarbonisation

Advanced technology has been specially developed to store carbon underground.
The solutions provide businesses with a complete package to cut carbon emissions from start to end.

The global energy technology company SLB has launched a new suite of carbon storage solutions for emitters and project developers.

Sequestri™ has been developed for safe, efficient, and cost-effective carbon storage to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate the impact of the climate crisis.

This will help companies across different industries robustly manage carbon storage projects from start to end, including site selection and continuing through planning, development, and ongoing monitoring.

Sequestri's digital technology platform connects all facets of the carbon storage process so that businesses can analyse, model, and predict results at every stage of a carbon storage project. Digital workflows, as part of this feature, are particularly useful for important decision-making, improving project performance, and managing and reducing risks.

SLB developed these tools using its 25 years of experience and expertise in carbon capture and storage (CCS).

Apart from software, the Sequestri solution also comes with hardware for carbon storage activities, including subsurface safety valves and measurement tools, as well as a special cement system like EverCRETE™ to prevent damage from carbon dioxide (CO2) in future. This will guarantee the long-term safety and reliability of underground storage sites.

The company is combining its existing Capturi carbon capture solutions with Sequestri to provide businesses with an overarching CCS package. This captures carbon emissions at the source and stores them underground permanently, supporting all efforts and actions to decarbonise industries on a larger scale.
