Samsara Eco Launches World's First Recycled Nylon 6,6

Australian startup Samsara Eco and athletic wear giant lululemon have teamed up to create the world's first product made from enzymatically recycled nylon 6,6.
This marks a huge step forward in textile recycling, bringing the fashion industry closer to a closed-loop system.
Nylon 6,6 is a popular material used by lululemon and others, but it is notoriously hard to recycle. Samsara Eco's innovative technology breaks down nylon 6,6 from worn-out clothes, including lululemon leggings, and blends it with other materials to create new nylon for new products. This process takes just hours and uses much less energy than traditional methods.
"This is a game-changer for textile waste," said Paul Riley, CEO of Samsara Eco. "Our partnership with lululemon shows that clothes can have endless lives."
The initial product is a sample of the iconic lululemon Swiftly long-sleeve top. It is made with over 90% recycled nylon and feels just as good as the original.
"This breakthrough has the potential to save millions of tonnes of carbon dioxide each year," added Riley. "It's not just about fashion - it's about protecting our planet."
This collaboration is a big step towards lululemon's goal of using only sustainable materials and solutions by 2030.
"Innovation thrives on collaboration," said Yogendra Dandapure, head of raw materials innovation at lululemon. "This partnership shows what's possible when we work together. We're excited to see where this technology takes us next."
