Hyliion Holdings Corp., a green electricity company, has entered into a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Jardine Engineering Corporation Limited (JEC).

This MOU is the first step in a partnership where both companies will look into using Hyliion’s KARNO technology for power generation projects.

They will also work on select opportunities in Hong Kong, Macau and other JEC markets. The KARNO generator is a versatile solution that uses a linear generator architecture to generate electricity cost-effectively and efficiently.

It can run on multiple fuels, hydrogen, natural gas, biogas and propane and is designed to lower maintenance and emissions than traditional methods.

JEC was founded in 1923 and is a power systems business in Hong Kong, representing major electric generator suppliers from the US and Europe. Headquartered in Hong Kong, JEC is a listed contractor for public works and one of the top electrical and mechanical engineering solution providers in the Asia Pacific.

This partnership will bring together Hyliion’s KARNO generator technology with JEC’s expertise, market presence and implementation know-how to deliver green power solutions in the region.
