Hitachi Invests in Envirosuite for Mining ESG Solutions
Key Takeaways
Hitachi Construction Machinery has bought 12% of Envirosuite Ltd for AUD 10 million, the largest single shareholder.
This will help with environmental monitoring and predictive technology in mining, global ESG and greenhouse gas.
Hitachi will drive software and growth of Envirosuite, focusing on ESG and GHG in mining.
Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. has invested AUD 10 million to buy about 12% of Envirosuite Ltd.
The investment will be in two stages, with the first in September to buy around 11% of Envirosuite and the second to increase the total to around 12%. Envirosuite is a real-time environmental monitoring and predictive technologies for industrial operations.
This fits with Hitachi Construction Machinery’s ESG and greenhouse gas (GHG) strategy in mining. Combining Envirosuite’s environmental technology with Hitachi’s mining and Wenco’s digital mining will help mining.
Mining sites are always operating, so site conditions need to be improved for worker safety and minimised environmental impact on local communities. Envirosuite’s technology addresses this by integrating operational data, scientific methods and real-time monitoring of multiple environmental factors. Their solutions include AI-driven noise analysis, so users can identify the source of noise events.
As a global environmental intelligence leader, Envirosuite’s solutions help mining operations reduce their environmental impact and demonstrate responsible behaviour while meeting productivity targets. Hitachi Construction Machinery has broad experience across mining processes, including fleet management through Wenco International Mining Systems Ltd. Wenco’s technologies, including high-precision guidance and fatigue detection, improve mining productivity and safety.
Going forward, Hitachi’s investment will drive Envirosuite’s industrial software and expand their market into mining. This will focus on ESG and GHG, integrating Envirosuite’s solutions into Hitachi’s offerings to improve safety and environmental performance while maintaining productivity.
Hitachi Construction Machinery Group will showcase these at MINExpo2024 at Booth 8649. The group is open to innovation and providing solutions across all aspects of mining.
