Sabert Corporation, a global leader in sustainable food packaging, has appointed Richa Desai as Chief Sustainability and Strategy Officer.

She will report to Paul McCann, CEO and be on the global and North American leadership teams.

Desai has sustainability experience and worked at Sabert from 2019 to 2021. During that time, she helped create Earthtelligent™, Sabert’s first sustainability framework. She produced the company’s first Sustainability Report and launched the Zero Waste to Landfill programme.

In this role, she will lead Sabert’s sustainability and support the company’s strategy.

Desai said: “I am excited to rejoin Sabert and lead its sustainability and strategy efforts. Sabert has always been at the forefront of innovation in sustainable food packaging. I am eager to push our efforts further to not only benefit our customers and employees but also set new industry standards for environmental stewardship.”

Most recently, Desai was Vice President of Sustainability at Graham Packaging.

Desai has a Master of Environmental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Design from the National Institute of Design and a Bachelor of Interior Design from the CEPT University.
