Olaf Schatteman Joins ERM as Sustainable Lead
ERM has welcomed Olaf Schatteman as its new Global Service Leader for Sustainable Products and Supply Chain. Schatteman will operate from ERM’s Milan office.
Bringing over 25 years of expertise in supply chain strategy, operations management, sustainable product development, sourcing, procurement, and strategic transformation across diverse industries, Schatteman joins ERM from Bain & Company.
At Bain, he spearheaded the Performance Improvement Practice in Australia and New Zealand, aiding clients in operational transformation to enhance customer experiences, increase revenues, and improve environmental and societal impacts.
Before this, he served as Managing Director at Accenture, overseeing supply chain, operations, and sustainability services across the Asia Pacific, Africa, Middle East, and Turkey regions.
Jaideep Das, Global Leader of Services and Innovation at ERM, said: “Olaf brings a wealth of expertise to ERM at a critical time, as we are helping businesses to navigate expanding product regulations and rising expectations from customers and other stakeholders for product circularity and driving ESG performance improvements across supply chains.
“Supply chain resilience is a key imperative for our clients and many of the disruption risks are related to sustainability. Similarly, sustainable products are a key business growth driver for our clients who are looking to differentiate their products based on their superior sustainability attributes. These are all areas that Olaf is proficient in, and we look forward to working with him to further elevate the value we bring to leading companies.”
In response, Olaf Schatteman shared his eagerness to lead a team of experts dedicated to assisting organisations in addressing intricate sustainability challenges in product development and supply chains. He stressed the collaborative effort in mitigating risks and unlocking business value amidst the current and future ESG and climate landscapes.
