IFS, the worldwide cloud enterprise software company, has unveiled the latest IFS Cloud™ upgrades. As part of the software's twice-yearly release cycle, the October 2022 release will include new features that will help clients reach their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.

Many of the new capabilities in IFS Cloud's latest release are geared at making it easier and faster for customers to gather, manage, and record vital data that offers visibility into their environmental performance. These enhancements include:

  • Under the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, there is now a way to track indirect greenhouse gas emissions and identify an organisation's total carbon footprint.

  • The ability to assist company and project teams in connecting and extracting data from multiple sources, as well as assessing their performance in Scope 1 and 2 of the Sustainability Hub.

  • Organisations can now keep track of how many vehicles they use and how much they cost the environment during the planning and scheduling optimisation (PSO) process. This lets companies collect data on the performance of different types of vehicles and compare the results, as well as generate reports to support ESG initiatives.

  • Reduce the number of spare parts and increase the number of repairs by giving mobile service technicians the tools they need to handle the return of unused inventory and components that haven't been installed. This will cut down on waste.

Christian Pedersen, Chief Product Officer, IFS, said:

"IFS has come a long way in a short time in its ability to understand and track customers’ ESG performance and support them on their journey to sustainability. We have concentrated on the element that represents the biggest challenge: data. The most important part of any strategy is understanding data and being able to collect and understand it. We are focused on making this easier and simpler for every organisation to achieve."

Pedersen continued: “Your organisation's environmental, social, and governance goals are in the spotlight. IFS tools and innovations give you the data you need to move toward your goals, show how well you are keeping your promises, and show that you are accountable and transparent. Our message to our customers is: ’Stay focused on ESG goals and making an impact on the planet."

The October 2022 update is the latest example of IFS's twice-yearly release cycle. This cycle lets customers keep improving their solutions without having to perform major upgrades or migrations. This frees them up to focus on business transformation.
